Symrise Singapore: Skin Cleansing Fragrance Evaluation

Symrise opens a Singapore scent center with skin cleansing expertise. What private label buyers should specify for fragrance evaluation in rinse-off products.
Oct 18th,2026 1 Ansichten

Symrise announced on October 13, 2026 that it has opened a Scent Creative Center in Singapore, including a Global Skin Cleansing Center of Excellence. For private label buyers developing shower gels, handwash or soap, the news offers a useful reason to review how fragrance samples are evaluated before a formula is selected.

What Symrise announced

According to the company announcement, the center brings fragrance creation, consumer understanding and evaluation together. Its skin cleansing spaces recreate a bathroom setting. The cleansing center will develop and share expertise across bar soaps, shower gels, handwash and emerging formats. Symrise also plans an adjacent Innovation Center in the first quarter of 2027; that is a future expansion, distinct from the facilities already opened.

The announcement describes Symrise's capabilities. It does not establish performance, suitability or availability for a particular private label formula.

Buyer interpretation: approve the use experience

Our interpretation is that a cleansing fragrance brief should explain when the scent will be judged. A bottle-opening impression, fragrance during lathering and the impression after rinsing answer different purchasing questions. Ask the development team to record these stages separately, rather than reducing the decision to a single preference score.

For a shower gel project, for example, the buyer could compare two coded samples in the same base and package, using an agreed dose and rinse procedure. The purpose is a clearer comparison between candidates. Such a review does not establish skin safety, cleaning efficacy or a claim such as suitability for sensitive skin; those need their own evidence.

Four details to put in the sample brief

  • Format and intended use: identify the exact product, destination market and intended consumer. Keep a handwash brief separate from a leave-on body lotion brief.
  • Comparison conditions: agree the base version, fragrance reference, sample age, dose and water conditions. Record any difference between samples before comparing feedback.
  • Evaluation moments: ask reviewers to describe the scent before use, during washing and after rinsing. Include an agreed time for the final observation and preserve individual comments.
  • Decision record: keep sample codes, formula versions, packaging references and the reason for selecting or rejecting each candidate. Identify who can approve the next trial.

Keep fragrance preference and launch clearance separate

A preferred sensory result is one input to development. Request the relevant fragrance documentation for the intended formula and market, and have the responsible technical or regulatory reviewer assess its applicability. If a fragrance, use level or base changes, record the change and decide which evaluations need repeating before approving the revised sample.

A practical next step is to send one format-specific evaluation brief with the next sample request. Ask the supplier which conditions it can reproduce and which observations remain for your own team to confirm. This creates a more useful response than an open request for a pleasant or premium scent.

Explore the Lanthome skincare categories, then submit a sourcing project for review with your cleansing format, target market and sample criteria. Formula details, supporting documents and commercial terms require confirmation for the actual project.
